Pain relief
The surgical/medical team of Dr Philippe Roure devotes particular attention to post-operation pain relief.
If an operation is likely to cause extensive post-surgery pain, you will have the opportunity of spending a few days in hospital.
These pain control techniques involve the application of a rigourous protocol including the prescription of pain-killers immediately after the operation.
A complementary local or regional anaesthetic can also be used in combination with the general anaesthetic and a catheter (fine tube) may be positioned and connected to a needle placed below the clavicle beside pain-transmitting nerves in the arm to facilitate injections aimed at blocking discomfort where necessary during your stay in the clinic.
All of these techniques will, of course, be explained in detail during consultation with the anaesthetist.
